Following on from last month's discussion and demonstration of Fed.Wiki we thought that we would explore another corner of the Fediverse, and so this month at Free Software Australia we'll be talking about Peertube. Along with discussing PeerTube itself we'll also explore how it benefits the Fediverse, the decentralised federation of social networks. Big words to speak about an alternative to Youtube that is growing in popularity in the Free/Libre and Open Source Software community, but PeerTube offers us the opportunity to take back control of our media sharing and consumption needs.
A group of us non-Victorian are trying to start some Free Software activities in Sydney. The objective of this first event is to get together, gauge interest, and see where we go from there.
