July 29 2015
Free Software Melbourne Committee Meeting
Present: Ben S, Ben M, Scott, Ben F
Agenda
0. Venue
Melb Uni made a last-minute offer, but we'll go ahead with Electron Workshop.
1. Get a quote on catering
- I think providing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will give us more time for working.
- Marty from Electron Workshop has suggested Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.
Morning/afternoon tea: Tea and bickies Lunch:
- Ben M to investigate the catering cost and spread (20 participants and 6 mentors etc.)
- how far ahead to confirm numbers
2. Set the entry fee.
- Now that we're at Electron Workshop, we don't have any external sponsorship, so our entry fee will need to cover the catering and a small contribution to Electron Workshop to cover upkeep.
I'd originally hoped to also donate to a free software project, but that may push the price up.
Assuming fee of: $25.00 gives budget ~ $500.00 (approx $20head)
3. Invite and persuade mentors to help out.
Possible mentors:
- Henry Walshaw
- Russell Coker
- Tatiana Lenz
- Damien Zammit
- Matthew Cengia (open street maps)
- Ben M (wikipedia)
4. Set up registration form on FSM website.
- Mezzanine has a built in tool to create forms that export to a spreadsheet.
Need to add instructions on pre-paying to Ben Finney via cash, bitcoin or PayPal.
